“This is the second time we have stayed at the Grand Dunes. We were there one year ago, liked the property and returned this year. It had an old time style from the lobby to the rooms. This year we found the room to be quite neglected. The items we noted were as follows: The shower door would not close and had about a 6" gap. The iron had the pointed end broken completely off. “Excellent property the only issues we had was with the shower in the primary bathroom not draining properly and the ceiling fan in the primary bedroom not functioning properly. We didn’t stay long so it wasn’t a huge issue as the ac was adequate and the shower was the worse the last day of our stay.”

“The rooms are privately owned, and the hotel is nice, but the rooms are outdated. They were clean but need to be upgraded. We booked 17 rooms for a party, and all of our guests had complaints about the rooms. They had to change several rooms. For the price, I would stay at a different hotel when we go back next year.”

“If you can get through the smell of marijuana and people yelling down the hallway, pounding on doors from midnight until 1 AM, you will find yourself in a room that was in disrepair. There were no plug-ins in the bathroom, half the lighting worked, there were stains on the main door and headboards of the beds, a broken chair at the desk, and water damage on the wall by the main window. The positive is that even though the beds were small, they were comfortable, and there was a nice 55-inch TV....

“I absolutely love the location!!......However, upgrades are definitely in order......We made the best of the experience, it was my husband's birthday and I didn't want the condo not being clean ruin it for him.....The staff on the property were pleasant and super professional. “We did not like a thing about this hotel. The TV and internet did not work the whole time we were there. I got charged for a room with two beds for 3 people and got a room with only one bed. They would not return our deposit said the room was trashed when we left said they had pictures but refused to send us pictures. this hotel should not be open at all you couldn't swim in the pool cause it was so nasty. there was blood on our bathroom wall where it had not been clean. “There was drug use by the front desk AS I was checking in and prostitution on the premises in full view. The rooms were in horrific shape and the entire building smelled of urine.”

The room they gave me had mold on the lampshade, paint chipping off the walls, broken outlet covers with exposed outlets. I asked the front desk person if I could cancel my reservation that I only reserved only an hour and a half before I got there, and he told me that I could cancel but he would charge me $800 if I did. “What i didn't like i was supposed to have a king ocean view they didn't have so they upgraded it to a ocean view smaller beds floor was dirty and bathroom was dirty people was hanging the building and parking lot drug addicts sleep in the hallway people getting arrested just horrible need to be condemned ”
