The lobby with the games was a nice option for our kids. My husband and I got drinks at the bar and there seemed to be a nice gathering of people. The drink tickets were a nice bonus! “The Commonwealth manages to capture a classic yet modernized feel. Desk staff and valets were friendly and helpful. Rooms and common areas were clean, room was fairly spacious, area was quiet. Parking was $37/night, which is expensive, but not out of line with other hotels. Good stay overall, served our needs. Recommended if you need to stay downtown.”

“We enjoyed our stay. Staff was wonderful, the hotel is beautiful. Your Restaurant wasn't open for Breakfast but we got a great breakfast across the street, so no worries there. The area is very visitor-friendly in general. We were very close to the concert venue ( Allianz Amph) where we saw Neil Young last night. ”

“This hotel was gorgeous! We arrived late so we didn’t spend any time around the area so I'm not sure how that is. I will say it is very loud especially at night outside. I swear the same car kept driving back and forth on the street outside of our room and it was SO loud that was the only thing we weren’t happy with. ”

“It didn’t smell like garbage. It totally didn’t feel gross just standing in the bathroom. I most certainly did not almost gag when I first walked in. I didn’t get drunk in the parking lot with my friends either. I did bring a sleeping bag. ”

“I want to be transparent here. My room was barebones, but it is what I paid for, and for that I was satisfied. If you’re looking for the 5 star experience without paying for it, that’s unrealistic here for right now. The staff were friendly and flexible. It’s my hope that Richmond hotel will provide more amenities, upgrades, and repairs as it gets more guests there.”
