Beautiful retreat!
What a fantastically appointed cottage in serene Bath County! We came for a long weekend and were not disappointed. The house was thoughtfully curated and it’s clear that Dana and Tom are people who appreciate the details. We loved our time here, feeling cozy as we read, played games, and took shelter from some truly wide ranging spring mountain weather (hail, snow, rain and sun!). The location was perfect for jaunt over to the warm springs pools as well as lots of hiking. We highly recommend it!

Absolutely lovely
My spouse and our two friends wanted to celebrate a shared birthday and picked this lovely home as our stay. The owners spared no expense in making this place as cozy as possible, all of the furniture was spotless and comfortable. The check in process was very simple and the checkout was the same way. Everything worked flawlessly and the appliances are shiny and new. It’s as if the owners thought of everything you might need and included it in the property. We will definitely be staying here again.

Warm Springs Trip
We spent time with our daughter visiting the Warm Spring Pools and exploring the surrounding area. The Acorn Cottage was perfect for the three of us. It’s location is close to Hot Springs and other sites. The cottage is very cute with plenty of room in a quiet area. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Beautiful Cottage in Bacova
The Acorn Cottage is perfect for a family getaway in Bath County! The house is beautifully decorated, fully equipped with top notch appliances, and the house is stocked with everything you and your guests may need. Two extremely comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, and even a nice pull-out couch. We plan to return to this wonderful cottage again. The owners are very accommodating and responsive with any questions.

Absolutely relaxing and gorgeous cottage
I booked the cottage for my sister's getaway weekend to celebrate her birthday with another friend. We spent three nights and enjoyed every minute of it! We use the kitchen to cook meals and enjoyed the front porch as well. The location is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage is immaculate! Great features all around and I would definitely come back!! I really like the extra touches like the plush towels, the nice linens, and the extensive notes provided by the host about places to hike. The little things! And the big things!

Cozy retreat
We had a wonderfully comfortable 10-day stay at Acorn Cottage. It is one of the best equipped and organized rentals that we’ve ever experienced. The owners have thought of just about everything to make your stay easy and relaxed, and the cottage was super clean and fresh. It’s located in Bacova, a small residential village. You will need to drive to get groceries or to dine out. But the area is so peaceful that you may not want to leave! Be aware that there is no AT&T cell signal at the cottage, but the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The television works via a satellite dish, which gets the regular Dish channels plus Netflix, Prime video, and YouTube. Highly recommended!

Great house and great owners
We were mostly at a larger rental with extended family during the day but it was very nice to come back to our own space in such a lovely home. The house has very modern decoration. It was nice to see so much beautiful reclaimed wood. The kitchen has all the necessities, even ground coffee! There was enough space for my husband and I with our 3 children, 2 sharing a bed and one on the pull out couch. Dana and Tom are thoughtful, communicative hosts. We couldn't be happier with our choice to rent this property. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Mountain Getaway
This was a perfect getaway from the city. Me and my husband came up for a wedding with our daughter and we're so glad we got a house! It was very clean, organized, great location (especially if you have kids, we make sure we're not going into a bad area) , and overall the perfect spot for us for the extended weekend!

Beautiful cottage
The cottage was beautifully renovated and immaculate. It’s in the tiny village of Bacova, which is in a pretty remote area of Virginia. Tom and Dana were very helpful. The house is well appointed and provides whatever you need, even a washer and dryer for guest use. I would definitely recommend this spot.

If you're looking to getaway and enjoy the mts and stay in a lovely cottage look no more!
I loved everything about this property, so much so I booked it again! I enjoyed all the hikes and the cottage is perfect. Next time I'll bring my bike and my fishing pole.

Amazing & Cozy Getaway!
The perfect getaway to unwind, to take walks, to hike, birdwatch and more! The house is very cozy with all the you need! The beds are soooo comfortable and love the soaking tub! And I plan to come back this Spring-summer! Was introduced to a one of a kind Winery that makes wine like the Romans did. Rock House Winery located on Sam Snead Highway! Wines are exquisite! There’s so much to do in this part of the world, loved my visit! And I look forward to my return!!!

So Much to Discover!
We came back for a second visit and found a winter wonderland. While the snow and ice in Bacova melted quickly, it stayed in the mountain passes and higher elevations and was stunning. There are so many beautiful areas and trails in this region, and they're generally not overused, which is wonderful. We were happy to discover so many new interesting places, including Oakley Farm. Thank you for another enjoyable week at Acorn Cottage.

A Gem
Acorn Cottage sits on a lovely street with sweeping views, central to everything in the area. The cottage has been thoughtfully renovated and is very comfortable for two. The kitchen is top notch, with a nice selection of cookware, tableware, etc. Wifi was great, as was access to Netflix, etc. Finally, the owners are wonderful hosts and present the cottage in a very friendly and hospitable way. (Apologies for eating all the Hershey Kisses!) We hope to return soon.

The Acorn cottage was delightful. Beds were very comfortable and well maintained. The cottage was very clean and the host provided so many extra amenities including lots of dark chocolate. A very convenient location to scenic areas, parks, and hiking. The hosts Dana and Tom were very responsive to our needs and sharing tourists information. Wonderful Cottage in Bacova
We had a lovely stay at the Acorn Cottage. This was our first getaway since the pandemic started, so cleanliness standards were at the top of our minds. Any concerns we had were quickly erased once we walked in and had a look around. The cottage was in great condition & small details like the TV remote being in a ziploc baggie let us know that the owners were taking cleanliness seriously. The amount of small touches around the cottage really put the place over the top. From welcoming chocolates to beer glasses pre-cooled in the freezer, Dana & Tom really have outdone themselves with their attention to detail. Several things that we had expected to need to bring were not needed including firewood, charcoal, dish soap, the list goes on and on. No detail has been missed by these wonderful hosts. We have not done of a lot of house rentals previously, but this has definitely peaked my interest in doing more. We truly can't wait to come back and stay at Acorn Cottage again. (the playground in the village and chickens wandering the side streets were an added bonus for our daughter).

Week long getaway
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay and actually got engaged on the property! I had thought the location may have been a bit more remote from other houses as opposed to in the middle of a grouping of houses, but all of the neighbors we met were very kind. The house is about 30+ minutes away from all of the activities (hiking locations and water activities) that we were interested in. The house itself was really nice and cozy. Dana and Tom thought of everything down to matches and extra newspapers to start fires (: They were extraordinary with communication as well. We loved the front porch rocking chairs and the coffee bar was exactly what I needed. Overall, we had a very relaxing and fun outdoors filled getaway!

This cottage is beautiful. Dana and Tom were so helpful in planning our trip.
My family has a wonderful time in Bacova/Hot Springs. We hiked, swam, kayaked, took archery lessons and took a ride on a historic train. The area is beautiful and the house was perfect. Favorites were the double headed shower and the deep soaking bathtub. And the growlers the hosts provided that we could fill at the local microbrewery. This house has everything we needed, and the hosts were so incredibly helpful with information!

Peace and quiet!

Great Getaway
Acorn Cottage is a beautiful house. The views on the way to and from are lovely. My vacation plan was to get away from home for some rest and relaxation, and I did get that. The owners were very responsive to questions before and during the visit and provided a lot of information about the surrounding area. This was my first VRBO rental, and I will definitely consider using VRBO again, and, if in the area, this property .
