“We arrived at the hotel early, did all the booking in, left our bags with reception, and went into York. On returning we collected our keys and our bags were taken up to our room. I had previously ordered, as a surprise for my husband due to it being our 30th anniversary, a box of chocolates and a fruit platter, both of which were waiting for us. “Really lovely stay at The Grand - hotel room is spacious, clean and comfortable and added touch of chocolates/anniversary card. We did receive our Expedia VIP benefit of £20 food/wine credit but actually didn't realise we had so would have been good for this to be noted. We also enjoyed the spa in the morning and the breakfast (though at £25 , make sure you're hungry). Lovely 1906 bar too with live music. Walkable to York. ”

“The hotel is very well located for all of Yorks attraction and city centre. The staff great, the room nice and big, nice clean bathroom. The shower was weak and the sink occasional had a strong drain smell but this is the only negative. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and regularly replenished.
