“Had to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency and flight cancellation. Contacted all hotels we had booked—five refunded us without issue. Even Ryanair did. Cairn Hotel was the only one that flat-out refused, no empathy, no flexibility, not even a partial credit. I explained everything, even pleaded—but they just hid behind their “policy.” I could’ve paid more for the flexible rate, but budget was tight. Shame, because we were really looking forward to staying. Very disappointing experience.”

“It is located in a beautiful active location with gorgeous views of The Abbey and Whitby harbor.
Good size room & bathroom
It is Across the street from The Pavillion & the Whale Bones Archway, A walkway to the shops
Restaurant & Pub in the building with good food great service and large selection of beer/cocktail or wine.”

“Ovoid this hotel like the plague, it’s dated and needs extensive refurbishment, checked in online still waited 45 minutes to get a key, lifts are hit and miss if they work, room allocated was fine initially , seagull noise nothing you can do about that, TV didn’t work water started pouring down the wall, I assume someone on the next floor was having a shower, our shower controls fell to pieces, eventually given another room with what has to be the smallest shower cubicle ever, the extractor fan...

“Bella camera pulita e spaziosa. Un bell’hotel in una bella città. Zona silenziosa e centrale, comoda per negozi ,attrazioni e ristoranti.La colazione è buona e compresa nel prezzo. Il personale gentile ma non troppo disponibile. L’ ultimo giorno avevo il treno alle sette ed ho chiesto per avere la colazione da portare via ,visto che il sabato iniziano tardi, alle sette. Ci hanno dato un sacchettino piuttosto “imbarazzante”. Forse era meglio evitare…”

“It is a nice place especially for the younger person. The dining room was very large and doubled as the bar. Plenty of parking at the front including some disabled bays. It stands adjacent to a main road and a little distance to nearby shops but buses run passed it so , if you haven't got a car it's take a bus or a taxi.
We stayed for a couple of nights and had no problems at all.”

“There was a complication with a Double Booking in my name & then allocated a small Twin not the Suite that it stated on Paperwork? The route to our Room was very complicated & meant we had to drag a Huge Suitcase up & down a lot of Steps!! The room was very small & obviously not cleaned very well before we got there as there was a huge empty Water Bottle left on top of the Drawers & some paperwork left by previous guests!? The Room & Bedding did have a slight damp smell which didn’t assure me it...
