Hotel a Cavan

“Best hotel we've stayed in in Australia. Lovely 1920s building, helpful staff, attractive bar, good location for many sites and on a number of bus routes (Canberra is not a very pedestrian-friendly city). Only quibble would be that, as one of the, possibly the, leading hotel(s) in the Commonwealth capital, a wider selection of Australian wines, and notably some from the smaller wine regions (for example, Beechworth, VIC) could be available.”

“This was our fourth time at the Pavilion on Northbourne. It’s one of our favourite hotels. The staff are friendly & helpful. The beautiful atrium filled with live plants & trees are just amazing to look at, very resort-style. The bar & restaurant are a great place to relax at the end of the day. Our apartment located in the second building was spacious, clean, and had the most comfortable bed, and fantastic shower. The ground-level free car park is a huge bonus. I will definitely be back and...

“All the staff are welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean, quiet and well appointed. Parking is provided. Little packets of biscuits to have with a cup of tea or coffee were appreciated. There is a kitchenette including a microwave, crockery and cutlery as well as a lovely onsite restaurant. We have stayed here twice in the last few months and will stay there again the next time we are visiting Yass.”

“Facility appears to have modernised recently. Very nice to walk into the room. Water scalding hot for shower, so that was a beautiful surprise. Riya at reception - outstanding. Asset to the place. Nice BBQ area in full view of room. Could leave kids in room and felt safe about it”

“Property is on the older side but still a nice place to stay on our way through. Parking was great for our larger van and the gentleman at reception was very nice.”

“The room was clean and a good size, comfortable beds and good air conditioning. I thought it could do with a couple of comfortable chairs and the remote didn’t work for the TV probably only needed new batteries”

“Love that our car was right outside our room. Staff accommodated a late checkout and were very friendly. Facilities had everything we required. Would definitely stay there again.”

“We stayed in the Garden Room, in mid May. The room is very rustic and while it would be great for a stay in spring or summer, we were very happy to only be there one night. It was comfortable (great bed) but very cold. I would suggest looking very closely at the photos on the website, and perhaps staying in a room in the house if you have a couple of nights in Yass.”

“Pleasant reception staff on arrival. Room a good size and had a great view over the lake. Would stay there again if in the area. My pet peeve is where the range of pump soap/conditioner etc are mounted in poor locations. It was difficult for me to use the soap dispenser beside the hand basin as it had been installed against the frame of the mirror. It was no deal breaker, just a peeve!”
