“The stay got off to a very poor start. The advertisement instructed guests to contact the property to receive a door access code. When I called in the afternoon, the property manager was extremely rude. Even after I explained the reason for my call, I was repeatedly questioned as if I didn’t understand the instructions.
The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and appear old and worn, with little care or maintenance.

“Room was tidy and as clean as could be considering it's not a modern motel, Staff very helpful and friendly. Just a 5 minute easy walk to major shopping centre. Loved the balcony at the back of my room overlooking the natural bush. Very quiet location. Aircon worked well and was quiet. Also loved I could open windows for fresh air which many modern rooms don't offer. Overall a very good experience, I will stay again.”

“The reality is I can’t rate the facilities as we never even got to see them. Staff told us on arrival (after a 6h drive) that they’d given our room to someone else. Blackout curtains were excellent but a Venetian on the car parks ideal let in a lit of light from the very well lit carpark. Overall comfort was slightly diminished for a light sensitive sleeper.”

“Abermain was a fantastic hotel. Great location to be close to the wineries in Pokolbin and Lovedale. Room was clean and it’s situated in a hotel that is 115 years old. We were worried about the shared bathroom but it was totally fine. The bar food looked great, even though we didn’t indulge after a day at the wineries. Would definitely come back to the Abermain. ”
