“The creek out back was amazing. The state had a burn ban in affect due to SEVERE drought so we couldn't utilize the fire pit areas. For being late in season there were not many options for dining. I just wish we could have spent more time at the lodge chillin outside, the running water from the creek and river were amazing. The new owners seem to be making upgrades, very friendly people. ”

“Beautiful property and extremely friendly management. Our room was nice and very clean. Oversized bathroom. A larger tv would have been nicer, but overall would definitely stay there again. I forgot an item in my room when I checked out. The cleaning staff found it and it was mailed out to my home the same day! Thank you!”

“Max’s Roost was lovely! Clean, bright. It feels more like an AirBnB because there isn’t an in-person reception, but the communication was good and effective. There is a nice organized binder in the room to answer any questions you might have. My only warning is the bedframe is VERY creaky. If you turn over, it’s going to creak—very loudly. It’s alarming. “Honestly, after a number of disappointing stays recently, we weren't expecting much so we could avoid being disappointed. But, we were anything but. We were in the maple room, which had private access to outside, a nice living room, a small kitchen (no stove), a large bedroom and very comfortable bed, and a semi small bathroom that was laid out well. “VERY cozy rural stay with quick access to Manchester. For “in” days and nights the projector is perfect. The garage access is fantastic for rainy/snowy days. Beautiful, serene views off the back deck with stream sounds yards away. Great spot. We’ve stayed here twice now. ”
