Just a few minor points to note & could be improved - bedroom window could not be opened to let in fresh air & badly needed dusting. Not enough electrical sockets & could have been better positioned close to mirror for make up, hair etc. Other than that, it was a beautiful atmospheric and classy hotel and full of character. ”

“Very disappointed with our stay at The New Holgate Hotel (27 Feb – 1 Mar 2026). My son bought a Saturday night Double Deluxe room as a gift (£149). I phoned to add Friday and was quoted £128 with free parking for my husband’s disability badge. A manager later rang and promised to match the original price. On arrival we were charged £210 for the extra night with an abrupt reception response and no explanation. Total came to ~£350 instead of the expected ~£270. Despite knowing about the disability...
