“Auberge de la Fontaine is in a great location to explore the city, close to the lovely park, restaurants, shops, transit. Our stay there was pleasant. Our room had a fridge which was great. But it didn't have a coffee maker or kettle for tea, which I didn't expect. There is free coffee in the morning and water at reception.”

“My experience was terrible as soon as we entered the owner of the property started asking us how we got it for so cheap and started venting about it. That is how we were welcomed and it is such a terrible way to welcome somebody who’s going to be your guest. There was no water in the fridge or even in the kitchen area that we could use. The bathroom was terrible. The toilet wasn’t even cleaned and it stink everywhere, including the room. The owner did not help with anything that was asked, and...

“Here's the deal - this place is good and the reviews I think if the property leaned in to being a bit more "hostel" than a hotel or bed and breakfast even, their reviews would be a lot more fair. My issues are mostly from lack of communication. Booking through Expedia made it hard to check in (since there's actually no physical person to check in with - and it's done online on their own website.. so if you book here, your email will not be the same as the check in one, so you have to call or...
