Hotel a Mayfield

“A pleasant surprise on our journey east. Found this treasure on a whim. Looking for a non-chain, hometown restaurant to get some dinner while on the road. Ended up making this spot our hotel for the night, too! Food was tasty. Service was friendly. Rooms were very charming. Prepare yourself for the loud engines racing by on a Sunday morning though. The hotel has no control over this, but the locals could learn to do better.”

“When we arrived all the electrical power was off. Storms had downed power lines in the area. It could have been a disaster for us. The staff went above and beyond their normal duties to get us in our room. The power was to be on in a few hours. Went went site seeing of the area. When we came back the power was on. Thank goodness. We love the resort. I believe it opened in 1952 but it look like it opened in 2015. It was fully renovated and super clean. Food for breakfast was very good and...

“The resort outdoors was beautiful, had a nice lake view. Rooms smelled musty, no mini frig or microwave. Had to buy a cooler and ice daily to keep drinks cold. Rooms need updated. Restaurant prices were very high cost us $100 for 4 just for breakfast buffet.”

“Clever and lovely cabin. The cabins are set just off a parking lot, but mine (The Schoolhouse) was really nice, seeming pretty new, good amenities like the big square showerhead. I liked the firm bed. I liked the Kuerig; just wanted decaf pods. Unusual place but worth it.”

“The check in was easy and the front desk receptionist was very friendly and courteous. The room had what it needed for our 1-night stay…hot water, cool A/C, and a warm, comfy bed. Breakfast was minimal but just fine”

“We stayed here last year for one night and were very pleased. Yesterday we stopped and were extremely happy to see that they have renovated almost all of the rooms. The staff was wonderful. Lots of food and drink within walking distance. Sam's club, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes and a whole shopping Mall! Beds were comfortable and the BEST shower!! We will stop here next time we drive through!!”
