“Hotel was clean well maintained smell of freshness when entering the building. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Rooms / bathroom were clean. Great experience this past weekend!”

“The stay was amazing! This is one of my favorite hotels esp for an affordable getaway for two 😇 breakfast is great, rooms are clean, very comfy and cozy. Porches are great esp overlooking the woods. Only downside, no late checkout option, and then the coffee was not the greatest. Not sure if it was end of the pot or old milk, but that was the only downsides!”

“I stayed at the Ameristar East Chicago for 21 nights over 11 stays in fall 2025, travelling for business. It doesn't have everything (breakfast) and is in an odd location. But it was half or less than hotels in Hyde Park, had free parking, big rooms, was always clean and quiet, and the front desk staff was awesome. Shout out to Danica, who was not only a joy but who directed me to the rooms with the best wifi.”

“We had our 2 elderly dogs with us and had requested 1st floor near an exit. This request was met and we were delighted with the size of the room (had a “suite” room), the comfortable bed and the large bathroom with walk in shower. As we have family in Mich City, we will be staying again!”

“Needed an easy overnight stay after being at the Dunes. Hotel was clean and staff was kind. Applebees right next door made it easy to walk to dinner, eat, and go right back to the hotel. Would stay again if I was in the area. ”

“The breakfast was repetitive. The oatmeal was fresh the first day but after that water was added and the oatmeal was heated and served. However, by the thirid or fourth day it was so dry I didn't want to eat it. I mention to the employee on staff that it was glad to have fresh oatmeal because the day before was awful. The parking was well lit that pavement was kept dry or free of ice. mjones-jackson”
