Hotel a Myrtletown

“Place is rad. Actually kinda creepy but I’ve never stayed at a place like this. Glad I did. You feel like you’re staying in a time capsule. Staff was great. It was clean but it is 100 years old so don’t expect every little thing to be how’d you expect Main bummers. No jacuzzi (they should add one since it so cold there) they blocked off the back patio for no aparent reason. It’s in a bad part of town. Biggest bummer. “We arrived at 3:20 pm for a 4:00 pm check in. The hostess was extremely rude and informed us she was the only one working and we had arrived too soon Most of the property is closed off. Only the kitchen and guest rooms were accessible. There was no sense of experiencing a Victorian home Towels and other amenities were below par”

“Questo è un classico motel americano. LA camera al secondo piano è un po' scomoda per portare i bagagli, ma più silenziosa. La stanza è pulita, ma avrebbe necessità di una risistemata, Il bagno è piccolissimo e la vasca con la tenda lo occupano quasi tutto. Il lavandino è in camera ed è minuscolo. Il letto comodo. La colazione ottima, al di sopra delle aspettative e giustifica in parte il prezzo che è da hotel e non da motel!!”

“Very clean, in a quiet well maintained area, staff were great. Appreciate a newer clean place to sleep with plenty of space (king room), bike rentals perfect for ride on coastal trail, great location- close access to beach, redwoods and outdoor activities!”

“Very close to the highway it was loud in our room we could hear revved engines all night like there was street racing. The bed was hard and only 1 pillow per person and it was super flat. We asked for more and the lady was very nice but was only able to provide two extra for our 4 guests. So the teens just had one flat pillow. The shower was as newly remodeled and had a good shower head w good pressure. The area wasn’t very nice, and the only food walking distance was a McDonald and Burger King....

“Historic hotel, located on the Arcata plaza and within walking distance of several restaurants. The staff was great, parking very close and the hotel provides a parking pass. We didn’t partake of the breakfast but it’s there.”

“Handicapped bathroom.had two showerheads, one didn’t work. Shower had a clear strip on the floor that was all dirty black. Also had a black rubberized mat in front of shower, very dirty. Sink had something jammed in drain and water started filling up sink. Not very clean.”

“The mattresses need replaced. They were sagging. Very clean, though.”

“Old food from previous guest was left in room fridge, but they took it away quickly when notified. Hot tub jets were weak, but temperature was nice. Our room was downstairs near the outside door...noisy door, noisy upstairs guests (i.e. kids jumping off of furniture).”

“This place is all about location. The experience in a 2-room suite was like staying at the home of an elderly relative who hasn’t updated their furnishings since the 70s. The rooms were spacious but a bit musty and quite worn. But it’s half a block to the main street so overall it’s a good choice if you don’t mind the thin walls and shag carpeting.”

“Clean room, great breakfast in the morning, incredibly helpful front desk staff, especially Chris, who went out of his way to help us find things to do and give recommendations!”

“Because of the Marathon thru the Avenue of the Giants was this weekend, it was very hard to find a room. This was the only place available and even though the rates were extremely high, we were pleasantly surprised with the property and staff. the early breakfast was an added benefit before we hit the road to the Redwood National Parks. I would stay there again if in the area. Front desk staff was very helpful.”
