“I use this as a base regularly for my hiking weekends and its just perfect. The rooms are beautifully presented, the food is great and I love the little residents only area.”

“The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

“Warm atmosphere- staff that care !”

“Parking space was a great plus. A nice old traditional pub with plenty tables outside. Bed comfortable enough for one night stay. Good, powerful shower. Delicious full english breakfast. Dining room was a little fusty and in need of a some TLC and the evening meal was a bit overpriced for what it was but still an overall charming stay in this gorgeous location. ”

“Great friendly staffs, good choice of breakfast Good location Room is small for a room with 2 medium size dogs and two adults Small table fan provided for warm weather but it was dusty and noisy when turned on It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room”
