“As always The Roger Thorpe hits the mark! 10/10! Great service and food. I spoke to a guest who had never stayied before and he said exactly the same! 5 star service, food and room! Great to support a local family hotel. I will be staying again very soon.”

“Somewhere cheap to lay your head for the night. Ok but certainly not sparking clean or somewhere to stay for more than a night. Bed was quite comfy and the noise wasn’t too bad considering bar below. ”

“Very easy to find. Lovely host Sarah. 2 friendly dogs, Frank n Nim. So relaxing, a small cosy Conversion which is Very clean. Pub/restaurant a short walk via the village. Other restaurants a short drive. ”

“The room was not prepared for guests. The receptionist pon duty did as much as she could,and made us fill welcome.”

“Property was clean however staff could have been more helpful. They wouldn’t let our group of 5 sit together at breakfast although there was an available table because they didn’t want to reset it for lunch. ”

Si sono fatti perdonare per averci offerto la colazione ma... mancavano i coltelli! Disorganizzazione totale... Anche la camera non era pulitissima (tra i due letti c'erano ancora delle briciole dei precedenti ospiti).”

“It feel very dated around parts of the hotel and the bed was rather noisy even when making slight adjustments in my sleep. Rooms were ridiculously hot when we arrived so slept with the fan on (in February) ”

“When we arrived, the lady at the reception was very polite and pleasant. However, in the morning when we were leaving, the staff were quite unfriendly and rude. Later, when we contacted the hotel to explain what had happened, they tried to accuse us of having three people stay in a double room. We were honestly surprised, because it was the hotel that checked the three of us into a room with two beds in the first place, but we chose not to raise this issue at the time.”

“Parking available and easily walkable to the main road with regular buses into York centre Great breakfast Only complaint would be the sound proofing of the rooms and cleaning early morning that disturbed us”
