“We stayed in Room 3, if the other rooms were as great as ours then it would be hard to beat this location. The view of the river and sunset were awesome. The restaurant service would be hard to beat anywhere and the food was excellent. All in all we loved our stay at Surry Seafood Inn.”

“Loved the stay but the property, especially the pool, was not well maintained. It was dirty and there were ants everywhere. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were beautiful though. Also, loved the location.”

“The property needs renovated. The bottoms of the windows were rotted. Air conditioning units in room did not work and had to move to another room. Room number sign on door was missing. Room was not clean and carpet needs replaced. The staff was pleasant and helpful.”

“First and last time crossing that threshold….2 absolutely shocking events take place within about an hour….we were in the room locked in with an extra kick stick barring the door. All of a sudden we can hear someone using a key card trying to get in our room…I yelled and you can hear them say something like why would they give us this room key…I called the front desk and they said they would look at the cameras and called me back….said there was an error made and apologized. “Did not go on property. Room not made over. Room was way down end of 3rd. Floor. No breakfast. Navi directions allways tryed to direct us through gated community.”

“Soap left in tub from previous tenant, top edge of shower stall was filthy, tenants smoking dope everywhere on property. People loitering in parking lot smoking dope. Room reaked of smoke, dope and cigarettes. Banging on floor from unit above us until 2 in the morning. Will never ever stay at this motel again.”

“We checked in late but the carpets next to the bed were sopping wet with large brown stains. Our socks and feet were soaking wet. The room smelled like mildew and air conditioner blew moist moldy smelling air. The blankets and beds were moist and floors due to this. We sent a message through Expedia and next day they came in room and dried the carpets but the air conditioner issue remained for the 3 nights we stayed. Coffee was weak and breakfast ehhh.”

“The staff allowed us to drop our luggage off before check-in so we could go off to do other things and that was nice. The mattress was fairly comfortable and the air conditioning worked fine. Otherwise it was an unpleasant experience. The room was dark and dingy. The furnishings were worn out…the easy chair had stained fabric, the bed sheet had a hole in it, and the handle on the folding door to the bath was missing. The TV produced a message stating that the streaming contract was expired so...

“Room and staff were great, but skip the Continental breakfast. They had muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, grits and fruit. They had Eggo waffles and hard boiled eggs that were rubbery.”

“First of all, after a 5 hour drive with two toddlers in bad weather, the room we got was NOT what we booked. I booked a suite with a pullout sofa bed. There were two double beds. I had to make a bed for my grandsons on the floor. I was told there were none of those rooms available (even though that’s what I paid for). “Overall, a great experience. Clean room, attentive staff, asy parking and easy in and out right on the main route through town. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance as well. Historic area is close by too.”

“10/10 overall! Staff was friendly, rooms clean, grounds well maintained, pool clean, good breakfast variety. My only suggestion (unless I missed something) I wish the TVs were smart TVs so we could use our streaming services. Other than that We've stayed here several times highly recommend!”
