“The room was filthy - stained towels - TV never worked.”

“I was locked out of my room for 12 hours because the lock wasn’t working. Tried 4 new keys and no one knew how to change the battery on the lock until the next shift came in. Every time I needed back in my room I had to go find the front desk person and have them unlock my door with the master key. Do you know how hard it is to always find a person at the front desk on a weekday??? They would put a sign out on the counter when no one was there and it said to ring the bell or call a certain phone...

“The staff was friendly and quick to answer questions. It was in a safe area with quick access to Ames and Iowa State campus. The room and shared spaces were clean. The room had blackout curtains that did their job well. The air-conditioning was easy to adjust in the room and was not noisy. Our room had a microwave and fridge that were very clean and functional. “We stayed at Econo Lodge in room 228 for one night and the room has BED BUGS! Once we realised that , we contacted the hotel but the staff was not helpful at all. We were told that the rooms are clean and that we were supposed to let them know at the time of stay (which was 1 night in our case). I would not recommend staying at this hotel, especially in room 228.”

“Grandkids loved the indoor pool and jacuzzi (also there's a sauna), and game room. I appreciated the 2 sinks in the room, with one being outside the bathroom. With 4 of us it was so much easier getting ready. Good breakfast, outdoor eating areas and random places to relax and socialize throughout the hotel.”

“Overall this is a very nice, clean, hotel which was 10 minutes away from our venue. Would have liked more breakfast options, such as turkey or chicken sausage, but no complaints about this hotel. I really liked that there was a fridge and microwave in the room. We would definitely stay here again.”
