Hotel is clean, well run and has some historic charm. Still a slightly upmarket bare bones place no flowers etc. Attached Hob Nobs restaurant has good coffee and a good ala cart menu. Good for omnivores and vegetarians may not vegan so much. ”

“This was a lovely hotel, very close to the Skywalk, which is an amazing walking network, connecting much of the downtown area - safe, secure, and climate controlled. I was in a tournament at the Iowa Events Center and it was an easy 15 minute walk - no car, no hassle! The staff were friendly and helpful. Des Moines has a lot of construction going on.”

“We were just planning to stay the night before our flight the next morning. We were pleasantly surprised with their facilities. The hotel was quiet, no airport noise, staff was friendly, they had a nice size pool and an activity room I would love to have at my own house! The breakfast was the best we have seen! Our only minor complaint is that it is out by itself, no restaurants nearby.”
