Hotel a Cowichan Bay

“This was potentially the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I've never stayed in a room with such poor sound proofing before and sleeping was miserable. You could hear EVERY time someone opened their door. It didn't help that the bar had karaoke playing super loudly too on Friday and Saturday night. You could hear everything. The guy working at the front desk was lovely but there's only so much you can do to block the noise. It was hard to fall asleep before 1am and I was woken up both mornings...

“Would have liked to say it was a great stay. The room was nice, lots of room for a family. Couple things though. The couch was not a couch that you could sit and comfortably watch tv, or enjoy a conversation on. Second when a hotel says it has air conditioning, it needs to actually offer air conditioning. We arrived to find that air conditioners are only available on a seasonal basis. If i had known that i would not have stayed there, as i have a medical condition that makes me heat intolerant....

Through no fault of the owners, the city as a whole is not a safe place to visit, particularly in the area where the property is located. We had someone clearly under the influence of some sort of substance repeatedly try to enter our room, and would not leave until police were involved. The room was spotless and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. The hotel staff were kind and friendly, which made the stay even better. Breakfast was fresh, well stocked, and had plenty of variety. A great stay overall. ”
