Hotel a Dataw Island

“No major issues but I have never stayed in a hotel where you can hear peoples conversations in the rooms beside you and every footstep of the people on the floor above you until this! We could not sleep due to all the noise. Our neighbors were not arguing or being loud - just casual conversation could be heard until early morning hours. ”

“Parking was private and super easy. Room 6 was large, spacious and very nicely accommodating. Shower was larger than expected with excellent water pressure. Location is near a very busy intersection with views of the water, the swing bridge, and lots of action but so worth it to be part of it all for downtown’s hustle and bustle of small town Beaufort, SC. Almost walking distance to everything. A great place to stay.”

“It was clear that the room had not been properly cleaned. The sheets smelled, the towels were ratty, the toilet was dirty and one of the drinking glasses was covered in greasy fingerprints. It was disgusting. The only good thing was the staff was pleasant.”

“The breakfast was pretty good. The man running the breakfast area was on point and pleasant. Couple of issues I had; our room was not exactly clean. There were smudges, dirt and old toothpicks in corners, the bedding had torn corners and worn, the beds were far too tall and I don’t understand how any elderly person would’ve been able to stay there, the bed frames under the bed were collapsing slightly, pull out bed mattress NEEDS to be replaced, a little bit of black mold on the window frames...

“We stayed 4 nights. We reserved two queen beds for 4 guests total and when we checked in they informed us that they had over sold their rooms and could only give us a king bed with a pull out couch. On our last day we never even received house keeping services at all. We had to ask for more towels, more toilet paper and shampoo/ conditioner every day. The fire alarms went off at 9 pm one of the nights and we had to evacuate. Elevators were not always working. ”

“My husband and I loved the location of this hotel. It is just a few steps from excellent restaurants, shops, and coffee shops. To call it a hotel seems wrong because while it appears to be a remodeled hotel with outside doors opening to the parking lot, it is precious and it is very well done with special touches that create a true boutique stay. There was one, I repeat, ONE person taking breakfast orders, cooking, cleaning tables, replenishing (and keeping an eye on guests understanding that the continent breakfast wasn't included in a room stay) continental breakfast items and coffee.
