“The reason why I rated Hampton Inn, sort of low is due to the pool was not operational. I specifically rented a room at this hotel because of the pool and it was my daughter‘s 18th birthday. “Our stay at S31 was great. The building is incredible and the rooms are modernized, but still have the original woodwork. The Village gate is close with great restaurants and boutique shops. The neighborhood is full of history and a great place to take a late night walk. Although there is not currently a dining area at the property, they have great snack options for enjoying in the room and great local wines. “I do their believe there was a difference in a third-party reservation vs going directly to the hotel and making a reservation as the two people that were at the counter with me they got the rooms right away. They were actually after me and I was told I had to wait till 3 o’clock. I got there at about 1:45. “The cleanliness of this hotel was very questionable. The smell in the hallway was very mildew & the room we had smelled like cigarettes our whole stay , even the towels smelled. The bed had a huge deep dent in it & the blow drier was sticky. Nothing was clean about this place ”
