“Wonderful food and service”

“Unique experience staying in a castle. Stairs are a feature with a narrow spiral staircase to our room, fortunately we had small pieces of luggage. Restaurant food very good but at a price. Inconsiderate parking by some guests was annoying.”

“The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late. The toilet area is really tiny, but the rooms are lovely.”

“Superb location and venue. Delightful pub with top cask ale and the food was sublime. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff were highly friendly and attentive. The only negative was the electric shower which was very temperamental and low pressure. A real treat though overall.”

“Check in was easy, staff couldn't do enough for me, friendly and welcoming. Very nice large room, bed and clean shower room. Definitely come back if needed to and would highly recommend it.”
