“It is a lovely facility. The staff is kind and helpful. We had some confusion on checking in, I had apparently booked a room without a private bath or closet. As we were there to attend a wedding, I wanted my own bathroom and a place to hang our "dressup" clothes. They were able to change our room and accomodate us.”

“The room was clean and comfortable. There seemed to be a construction project going on at the main building, but it didn't affect us at all. Breakfast was simple fare and freshly made.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Phoenicia Lodge. We stayed for two nights and went hiking in the surrounding area. The lodge is in a great location—ideal if you have a car (we didn’t, but we managed just fine). Sandra was a huge help, and the welcome was fantastic. She always gave great advice and really takes good care of her guests. I highly recommend Phoenicia Lodge.”

“To be honest I was surprised that upon entry I went downstairs to the room, but as the property is on a hill it is not a basement room. It’s Kingston and it’s a historic property - the landlords have done a lovely job, the room was well appointed, and the team were wonderfully helpful and responsive, and helped me with my bags. Parking on site was helpful. And I even did a load of laundry while there.”

“It was weird when we got there. We couldn't find the entrance at first since it wasn't obvious. When we did find it, there was just a key left on the table with my name saying that everything was self-service. Not one employee in sight. It's an old property under renovation so it felt pretty creepy. Everything creaks and the walls are thin. The room was okay with a nice view of the Hudson. “The property was clean and well-maintained. There were many things to do, including a swimming pool, a hike, and a close by watering hole near a river. The rooms were very nice and the restaurant served excellent food.”

The place has such a warm, family atmosphere, and you can truly feel how much the owners care about both their property and their guests—they live nearby, and their love for this place really shows. “I knew it was an older property, and we chose it solely for its location to our family members. Our room was not in great shape- stains on walls, cracks on ceilings, fixtures (outlets, toilet paper holder, etc) not fully secured to walls. Towels had holes in them. WiFi wasn’t the best.
