Bournemouth Pavillion Theatre: Tour e Visite Guidate

Although I was expecting a feature room with the four poster bed, the allocated room wasn’t bad and big enough for my family. Unfortunately, the welcome and interaction from the manager on duty when we arrived after a wedding nearby wasn’t the greatest. We had checked prior about check in times and were told it was 24 hours, so wasn’t expecting the resistance we got when we arrived. We told the manager on duty we were guests and needed to check in - he seemed rather confused and defensive about this? Eventually he allows me into the hotel to complete check in. Asked to see where our room was located first, before bringing my young family out the car and he seemed to question that too - “why do you want to see the room? It’s the room you booked you’ll get?”. When I asked it’s a little different to what I was expecting, he said this is the best room and all they had left. The stairs are an uneven and carpet worn. Tired not wanting to make a fuss at such a late hour, we returned downstairs and I confirmed that our room came with breakfast- which he said no and it would cost £11.99 per person - which was strange as I knew I had booked breakfast. As we unloaded the car, he returned to say, the hotel have added breakfast for us “free of charge”, so we could have it in the morning. I didn’t even have the energy to argue. In the morning at check out, there was hardly any greeting or to ask if we had enjoyed our stay? Big thank you to the lovely lady running breakfast, very helpful!

The mattress and pillow too soft and uncomfortable. The staff was nice. The access to the room is throughout a narrow stair. Free parking.
