“Delightful and funky. Spa robes were ready at the foot of the bed, the fire warmed the room, there was no sink in the bathroom, and the kitchen outlet was directly over the quality Italian range. Desolation Hotel is isolated at the end of Hope Valley, which was an essential part of the Emmigrant Trail. The "hotel" is a collection of comfortable cabins hidden in the trees above the restaurant/lobby & outdoor bar & dining area. It is an ideal location for those who like hiking or trout fishing.”

“Pass key to the room we were originally assigned to did not work which required back and forth to the front desk and wasted time. There was no coffee in the room. Multiple things were broken. I escalated the issues with no response or help from anyone.”

“The cabin was advertised as 4 bedrooms but it only has 3 bedrooms. When contacting the host, they said the 4th bedroom was the living room. Consequently, some people in our group had to sleep on the air mattress and it was soaked in urine which made them smelled terrible waking up. In addition, the BBQ grill was full of rust and dust and falling apart as we tried to clean it. The porch area was also really dirty making us spent half an hour to clean it. There was also dirt on the pillow covers...

“Such a cozy and welcoming home after a family day at Big Trees. The Little Red Cabin had everything we needed for a quick vacation with our family. All of the details were thought of, heated bathroom lights with an amazing shower and all the kitchen appliances we needed to have meals in. Such a sweet place, we look forward to visiting again. ”
