“The good: It is a clean and newly renovated setup. Clearly they have taken a house and made it into 5 rentals. We stayed the in Orca Suite. The downside: We aren't fancy travelers in the least but at 430 in the morning our first night I was finding us a hotel room for the remaining 2 nights of our trip. The room felt like a shoebox that you could hear every bump and step from other guests beside and above. The bed is a double pushed up against the wall was not comfortable at all. ...

“A unique, and uniquely warm motel that is really not comparable to any other properties. The couple that owns the motel are the main highlight: you will struggle to find more gracious, hospitable, friendly and helpful hosts anywhere in Newfoundland. The facilities are lovely and very distinct. The meals we had were excellent, including their very special (and very abundant) Jiggs Dinner which they offer every Sunday starting around noon, in the motel's main dining facility. “The governor was a great place to stay, I’d go there again. I wasn’t thrilled with service in the pub even though I tipped. Maybe regulars are the most important people in there and I can appreciate that. Might need to spend some money on those booth seats cause they’re pretty worn. Other than those things, the governor as a whole is a good place.”

“We spent 3 nights in an ocean view suite with a hot tub. The view was amazing! The room was fully equipped with a kitchen and utensils. Entrance was by key pad so we didn’t need to check in at the front desk. The room, view and hot tub were absolutely beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay there. However, as another reviewer had pointed out, it seemed like we were in a VRBO property as no staff member stopped by to see if we needed anything, like more coffee, tea or towels, and there was...
