“It was a very beautiful historic hotel. Close to everything. We could walk to anywhere we wanted to go. Having places to eat nearby and in the hotel was a plus. Bed was super comfortable!”

“Two couples on our 70's stayed for two nights in June. Communication was great, .with Diana andwering all of our detailed questions. Checkin was easy. The facility and setting was as described: clean, very well supplied and charming. Our favorite feature was the shaded patio overlooking the Shell Rock river. The deck above was not as impressive. A steakhouse and pub are witin easy walking distance. A walking path along the river leads to a nice park and war memorial. Some of us attended water...

“ALL OF THE STAFF at the Black Hawk are BEYOND Kind & Welcoming. We loved staying here 3 nights as we provided support to our fam on Ragbrai. We switched rooms and both were terrific. Spacious and clean with a lot of eclectic antiques throughout the hotel. Bartender at Cocktail lounge makes some great drinks and is also SUPER NICE. Great location with lots of restaurant options / bars. ”

“Love the location. Outside the property is a walkable shopping and dining area. If you have small children there is a playground and splash pad for hot days right out front. Lots of options for grab and go food, sit down restaurants and outdoor patios for an afternoon happy hour! Parking is $15 and is at the city lot. Gym is large (not a run of the mill hotel gym at all), but could use some TLC for the benches. Lots of cardio equipment and free weights; and it’s open 24h. Definitely will stay...
