“First of all the view is amazing!
Clean, spacious rooms. There is plenty of space for luggage and any hiking equipment. The heated floors are a nice touch and the large radiator heater gets the room nice and toasty.
Having a kitchen is convenient as dining options are limited (and expensive) buy what you need beforehand in Twizel.
There is also a laundry which is handy as you'll be getting dirty clothes on your daily hikes.

Per quello che costa però la camera non è niente di speciale, il parcheggio è sproporzionatamente piccolo per gli ospiti, il personale di reception e sala alla colazione con cui abbiamo avuto a che fare era giovane e/o inesperto... Ma in un posto così vivi di rendita...”

“We got upgraded to the Hermitage because of limited capacity during winter season. It was a nice upgrade in terms of us getting complimentary breakfast but it also meant that we could not cook our own food. There was no kitchenette at the Hermitage. The Hermitage was an old hotel and honestly has seen better days. It is dated but at least it is clean. Breakfast spread was great too.”
“Our amazing stay in the Ashley Mackenzie villa was magical! The view of the glacier lake, the mountains, and Mount Cook were spectacular. Kaye and Luke were gracious hosts and Anna was a dream to work with. The villa was first class and very well appointed. We lacked for nothing! The chef prepared 5 star dinners that were delicious and delivered every evening. Highly recommend this property for a relaxing and pampered stay.”
