“Our family has been staying at the Highland Lake Inn for years. Each room, cabin, and home is unique, clean, and beautifully decorated. We stayed in a large cabin with very comfortable beds and a fireplace that warmed the room well. The shower had great water pressure and we never ran out of hot water. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the included full breakfast buffet is excellent. The property is relaxing and fun to explore. HLI will always be our first choice when staying in the...

“Clean and beautiful property nestled in the mountains. Quick and easy check in. The Hotel is over 100 years old so the floors are very creaky and the walls are paper thin and non insulated so you can hear conversations of everyone in the next room. The toilet clogged up and we didn’t even use it and started running all over the floor. Breakfast was ok for a continental breakfast but nothing special. Overall would stay again for 1 or two nights at most though while visiting that area.”

“Fantastic place !!!”

“Whether by design or a future commodity they plan to implement, it should be noted that there are no televisions in the rooms. There is, however, a community television at the end of the halls. Normally this would not be an issue thanks to WiFi, but their WiFi would only connect to one device at a time and each time we would use the WiFi on another device, it would boot the previous device. Overall, the stay was pleasant and you can tell they take great pride in their establishment. The staff...

“The looking glass cabin is small but effective and quaint. It had most things needed The grounds were clean and being next to the river was great. The check in process and communication was horrible It took hours wandering around property and 20 phone calls and texts to find our cabin They never texted us the code or cabin assignment at check in time When they finally returned communication, they made us feel as if we were in the wrong with no apology whatsoever. It’s a shame...

“Nice space in nature. Clean.”

“Breakfast was excellent and the rooms were clean.”

“We had a room over the breakfast area and the pool which was noisy in the morning and a little strange having a window viewing the indoor pool.”

“The staff was very nice and professional.”

“Your front desk staff person at 12:15 PM needs custom service training. She was rude when I asked to use a restroom. She said only customers could use the hotel’s restroom. I explained that I had paid for my room in advance and was a paying customer. She me know that I I was waiting for my room and needed to use the restroom, then to walk to McDonald’s. People like her will make me spend my money at another hotel in the area. Again, she was rude for no reason.”
