“This is a traditional "old fashioned" English hotel but has a lot of charm. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked a superior room with view of the Solent and it was well worth the extra money. Lovely, comfortable room and the view was great. It was fun watching the hovercraft coming in and out. Breakfast was good (although the coffee was pretty awful). We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay.”

“We stayed one night as part of a cycle around the Island. The beds were comfortable, room was warm , ample breakfast and good cycle storage. One shower had very poor pressure and a door that didn’t shut properly. No shampoo and conditioner, just a body gel / shampoo that I would use on hair. Basic and just fine. ”

“It was a lovely place to stay. A Victorian villa which still has many original features, including beautiful stained glass windows. The room was clean and tidy and the hosts were most hospitable. There were some lovely touches, such as complimentary drinks and snacks. It was lovely to sit out on the front veranda with a coffee. The rear garden was well tended and the large swimming pool was fantastic. The only improvements i could suggest are a shower instead of the bath in Room 3 and a washing...
