“Staff was really slow, other than that the hotel is nice, although in the middle of nowhere. You need car to move. ”

“We arrived at 1:00pm and thought we would get lunch at the hotel. Their restaurant/bar were closed until 5. We were woken at 11:30pm that night with a fire alarm. We had smelt a sewer smell in the hallway all day and reported it. I called about the fire alarm and was told I could stay in my room because it only went off due to someone lighting a cigarette in the men's bathroom. Would not recommend this hotel.”

“Overall an ok stay. Super clean and charming, unbeatable location. Some details could make the experience 5 star. All doors are very squeaky, which was disruptive in the middle of the night. There is virtually no sound barrier between the room and hallway, so it feels like you can hear other people breathing through the walls. The bed was VERY low to the ground and mattress felt cheap and dated. A few improved details would really make this place a hidden gem. ”

“The staff were amazing very friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet had limited options but the food was decent. A few areas of the hotel were being renovated and the elevator sounded like it was going to break anytime it started to move. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. I would stay there again. ”

“Continues to be my chosen place to stay in Halifax. Grand old hotel with a lot of character. Great location for shops, restaurants and walking. I’ve stayed in both the smallest and largest of rooms in the hotel, and although there are parts of the hotel that could use some fresh paint and tlc, I appreciate that the little things are always high quality: big towels, great toiletries, Nespresso machines in all the rooms, and top notch staff. “The place was nice, parking was not too bad. For my family and me, the beds were too firm, and the pillows were bother too much and not enough. The tissues and toilet paper were very thin and rough, but these are just little gripes. Over all, the room was fine.”
