“The property was beautiful and clean but the only takeaway was ladybugs everywhere. I was visiting from D.C and in Birmingham for a funeral. The signage at check in warned of the infestation but I didn't realize the severity. They truly were everywhere in the room, crawling on me, flew in my drink, my hair. I woke up with them in my bed. I was too tired the night before to notice them, which I'm glad otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sleep”

“Carpet in our room needed to be cleaned as there were big stains. Carpet in hallways also looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. Tiles/flooring in elevators were severely cracked and needed to be replaced. Also upon arrival, entering the lobby to check in, it was very warm. You could tell there was no air conditioning in that area, perhaps it was broken or hotel trying to save money but temp levels were warmer than outdoors ”

This image is of "The Old Mill" or "Old Mill House", a 1926 replica of Perryman's Mill built by the Jemison Companies to promote the newly-developed residential suburb of Mountain Brook. It is located on the foundations of the earlier grist mill, on the bank of Shades Creek at 2780 Mountain Brook Parkway. Tip - Early morning is better. Be aware this is a private residence in a residential area... not a tourist attraction. There is a linear park with a popular running trail along this road. Plenty of pull in parking spots along the side of the road and a great place to watch the fabulous Mountain Brook housewives strut their stuff. #TroverDetour
