“My husband and I specifically made a 3 night reservation at the Kit Carson Lodge over the 4th of July weekend because we were told by an employee over the phone that the room included a microwave and a fridge, plates and cutlery That was not true. We arrived with multiple perishables and cooked food, o find out, upon arrival, that there were neither plates & cutlery NOR a microwave NOR a fridge. That was a very disappointing start of the weekend. Our food had to be kept at room temperature ...

“I would stay here again. It’s close enough to everything. I really liked how the building to get to your rooms was locked and you needed your room key to get in. They do have someone in the office 24/7 if needed. Even though this is on the main road, you do not hear the traffic at all.”

“The over all stay was decent and staff was “invisible” in a good way. Available if needed but not underfoot. We were far enough off the main highway that it was very quiet. Lots of trees and shade. The thing that destroyed our stay was the fact that there are NO CHAIRS or a couch. Nothing to sit on with any back support. We resorted to bringing in our lawn chairs we were using on the beach. There was no table of any kind either. They had two small bookcase type stands and two backless...

“The best thing about this hotel is the location! It’s surrounded by nature and absolutely stunning. There is a burger joint next door and it’s only 25 min away from Meeks bay! The rooms are small and cozy. The set up makes it easy to store luggage’s , etc. my only compliant is the rooms do need better cleaning. We had spider webs/spiders on the ceiling. Beds are comfortable! Bathroom is a cute set up. If you don’t mind quaint and cozy this is a good hotel to stay with!”

“Convenient location on Lake Tahoe Blvd & easy parking. Rooms have been nicely renovated, but definitely use the earplugs provided as the street noise and any talking from the adjoining rooms is quite loud. Mattress a bit on the firm side if that’s not your thing.”

“Isolated location but convenient for hiking, fishing, etc. Cottages are well constructed and comfortable. Try to get one a bit away from the restaurant. Good choice for younger travelers looking to enjoy the outdoors; not so much for older people with any mobility issues.”
