“The staff were very friendly. The rooms are old and showing their age. Unfortunately we had to use the AC the entire time and it is very loud. And the room had a lot of bugs. The staff said they would take care of it. It was an average stay.”

“Someone else’s fingernail on bathroom floor, yuck! Dust covered microwave and dresser shelf. At 9:20 AM 5 housecleaners in hall at our door talking SO loudly, laughing and personal discussions. Not work related. I opened door twice to give them hint we still had family/kids sleeping. Finally had to tell them they were being too loud. Only 1 even responded/acknowledged.”

“I like how the breakfast options were different every day. The pool was dirty and cold, trash cans were overflowing throughout the hotel, our drain for the shower didn’t work so we showered in standing water then it would take 15 minutes to fully empty.”

“I was visiting South Haven for one night with my adult daughter. We enjoyed Historic Hotel Nichols very much and would not hesitate to stay there again. Todd was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and local information. The bed was comfortable. The shower was on the small side but fine. Good heat and water pressure. Don't skip the breakfast. The blueberry pancakes were amazing, as Michigan is known for their blueberries. Worth noting that there is no elevator. Fine for us, only 1...
