Hotel a Matthews

“We left about 20 minutes after checking in the woman at the front desk was very nice however I was a mom and teenage son party and did not go safe. Anytime my 14 year-old son feels like he has to stand in between me and men that is not a good situation. There were multiple men just setting outside and a drunk man at the top of the stairway on floor three when we got off the elevator. The hallway and room smelled bad.”

“The cleanliness of the rooms could have been a bit better. There was some molding in the shower and mystery spots on the walls of the bathroom all the way to the ceiling. There was also a hole in the bathroom wall. The Mini fridge was filled with rust as well. The staff was great!”

“The room was clean. My only complaint I had was, we could not get the temperature at the right comfort zone to be able to sleep.”

“Breakfast was not always heated and sometimes sat cold. My car was vandalized parked in the front of hotel lobby. Alerted front desk, manager was supposed to contact me as they were on the premises. No contact from Mgr, checked out the next day instead of staying thru the reservation. Homeless people on the grounds by the dumpster.”

“Absolutely wonderful experience! Beautiful hotel, everything was so clean and well-maintained. The staff was incredible, so friendly and accommodating, especially James. The area around the hotel is gorgeous and has so many stores, restaurants, and the BEST coffee shop! We will definitely be back. Also, we were able to bring both of our dogs and they were treated like royalty!”

“Absolutely do not recommend. When I booked, I realize I wasn’t booking a 5 star hotel—my expectations were reasonable. My family and I were traveling for soccer and it was a last minute booking. I only have 2 criteria for a stay for me to be happy—clean and safe. The property is not well maintained—pool was drained for the duration of our trip (with no indication prior to booking), the AC was not working property in the lobby/breakfast area to the point where staff had brought in floor units....

“The room was clean and very comfortable. The property was maintained very well and there weren’t any complaints. The breakfast was nice and had some good fresh fruit and healthy options. The staff was very kind and polite. My only complaint was that room service opened the door to come clean later in the afternoon and didn’t knock first so that was akward. Hotel and area are nice overall”

“The room was smaller compared to their other property in Rock Hill. Also didn't have ice maker, a bigger leather chair and a rotating desk chair like the Rock Hill SC property. I like that it was very clean, the AC was great and the staff was very attentive and nice. Yes, I'll recommend it.”

“3rd time here. We like to stop heading up to Virginia from GA. There are so many great restaurants and breweries nearby. The hotel has been consistently clean and staff always prompt, kind, and helpful. Plan to stay again when we pass through Charlotte!”

“Breakfast bar needs a little update. The meat was not what I expected and the grits were not done; almost raw. There was ham pieces one morning, and turkey sausage the next morning. All looked half done.”
