“We stayed at this property ahead of moving our son into his university dorm. It was a perfect location, easy to get everywhere and a grocery store only a 5 minute walk. There was plenty of room to store our things and we really appreciated the covered car port. The house was very clean and the owners responsive. We would not hesitate to stay here again. My only suggestion to future guests would be to bring some sugar packets if you like it in your coffee :)”

“Calling this a boutique hotel is a bit of a stretch. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was good. But this is an old hotel that needs some TLC. There is nowhere to put your stuff in the bathroom and no plug in inside the bathroom. I did some laundry which is in a creepy basement and not well lit. However, the washer and dryer (one of each) was very clean and did a great job. The lady at the front desk was very nice. $1.75 for detergent and a dryer sheet and $1.75 for the...

“I can not say enough nice things about the staff at Best Western plus Chocolate Lake. All of them were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was always spotless and the restaurant in the hotel has very good food. I will be staying there for my future trips to Halifax.”

“Very expensive for a room that was pretty much a basement suite view of the road. Room window was only 2 feet off the ground and when you look out the cats are driving by on a road higher than your window. All we could see was an eye level view of the sidewalk and road. Very noisy with road traffic.”
