“You can't beat the location - on the edge of the Quarter, across the street from the streat car line, 3 blocks from Bourbon and the St. Charles street car, walkable to the art district. My only rub is that the property charges a "destination fee" which is really a cost that should be reflected in the room rate. For this "destination fee" you get $15 to spend each day at the hotel - which you have to spend and it doesn't roll over. I'm not a fan - it isn't transparent and should really be...

“We ordered a king suite from Hotel Royal. After climbing 3 flights of stairs (no elevator), we found the room adequate except for a place for us to sit. It was advertised as having a refrigerator and large sitting area. There was no refrigerator and it did have a large sitting area, but without anywhere to sit!
