Hotel in zona Serene Lakes, Soda Springs

“The location is perfect in Tahoe City, right across the street from The Commons. It was close to great food, drinks and bakery’s. I stayed in room 8, which was on the top floor. The room was spotless, the bedding very comfortable and of high quality. I slept really well and it was very quiet. I appreciated the shampoo, body lotion and conditioner. The thing I DIDNT LIKE was the check in process. I sent them 3 texts asking them how I check in with no response. I later found 4 emails from them...

“Staff were very nice but this is an incredibly dated hotel. The fabric softener was overbearing and required the room to be left with windows open a long time, walls are thin, bed not great not horrible. Windows are open right to a hallway that’s active so people are basically 1 foot from you when they walk down th hall. Whole place needs a refresh. For $140 not really worth it. Right next to the highway which you can hear during the day but is quiet at night. Mostly. I’ve been to motel 6s that...

“Yes but the shower was dangerous as there was no nonslip mat. Also we had to ask to have the room made up. We had to ask for fresh towels.”

“After reading all the positive reviews I was expecting a room that was remodeled motel room. It was musty, stains on carpet, old fridge and the door needed painting. The nice thing is once it gets dark, you don't see all the scuffs. The only good thing were the beds and linens. Even the towels and wash cloths needed replacing. I don't think I will return”

Our Suite and fireplace were romantic and cozy! We highly recommend this hotel as it is central to western Lake Tahoe for hiking, outdoor activities, museums, historical sites, restaurants and day tripping! Donner Lake, Truckee, Tahoe City, incline Village, beaches and more.”
