“It's such a nice place to stay. Very remote, yet convenient. Perfect for relaxing and it's immaculate. The rooms have a lovely view and the restaurant was delicious. ”

“The home was very comfortable for 5 of us with room to spare. Located in a friendly small town. Many extras included. There are many activities for kids. Our grandchildren had a great time, they would have liked to just stay at the property!. The ferry to Jamestown is very convenient and there is much to see on that side. We also visited the town of Smithfield which is only 20 minutes away. We were looking for a nice slow and relaxing pace and found it. ”

The house fully suited our needs with plenty of rooms and space for everyone to be together or take time on their own. “We had a lovely stay in Deena’s cottage. The cottage was super convenient to the car ferry, and we took many fun trips into Williamsburg and Jamestown with the kids. We enjoyed the private slice of beach right outside the cottage and kayaking with the kids in the river. Deena was incredibly communicative and knowledgeable and the check-in/out process was seamless. The cottage was well-appointed and the kitchen well-stocked and had everything we needed. “We just loved every minute of staying here. The house/ property is so full of charm. You absolutely cannot beat being so close to the attractions all around Williamsburg. After touring and doing activities, it was so nice to settle down at the beach! We loved sitting on the screen porch looking out at the water, and taking in all of the beautiful views. We will definitely visit again. A”

“We had a great time. Everything was just as it was described. We loved the water and had a great time on the kayaks and paddleboard. Home is so close to the ferry to get over to Jamestown colony and Williamsburg. We loved exploring the area. Close enough to all the hot spots-Newport News, Norfolk and Virginia Beach (about an hour away).AC and Linda were quick to reply to questions we asked.We would love to stay here again!”

“The house was well appointed , quiet, and had a beautiful view of the water from the back deck. The home was clean, spacious and inviting. The host was wonderful to work with.Our group enjoyed spending time on the beach in the evening watching the sunset. I would absolutely recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful getaway. We didn't take advantage of it this time but the area is wonderful to stay in for easy day trips to Busch Gardens or Colonial Williamsburg. ”

“The River House at Claremont was one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. I am a huge Gone With the Wind fan and this property brought you back to the South prior to the Civil War all we needed were ball gowns to make it really authentic. The house was well appointed with the necessaries (toilet paper, tissues, and toiltetries). In addition the kitchen pantry had salt, pepper, flour and other staples. The interior of the house is amazing with much of the furniture handmade by the owner...

“This is the second year we have stayed here. Superb views over the James river. Quiet location. Very near Scotland Jamestown ferry. Free and one of the US best trips.There were only 3 of us so the house was spacious and we had a bathroom each. All the facilities you need , Good wifi and Tubi TV. Overall excellent”
