If you have accommodation in the charran sanctuary area you will come across colonies of charran nesting there: it may be interesting but we had to ask for a change of room because at the entrance to the house and on the terrace there were excrements and it was not pleasant to see or smell. I have noticed little efficiency in removing it along the road leading to the accommodation and only after pointing it out. You will happen to find cherrans at the bar...

“Wonderful family stay at Casa Azul Maya! We did have a ground floor room which was a bit more humid - but the AC kept it cool and it was fine for all of us. Beds were comfortable, staff helpful and room was cleaned everyday with fresh bath and beach towels as needed. The partnership with Loretta’s was perfect; amazing breakfasts, access to pool and ocean were picturesque. South side of the island is much calmer and slower pace -with great food, coffee and Punta Sur—- we’d come back in a heart...
