“There was constant flooding in the hall between our wing to the main hall due to rolling thunderstorms. The gorge hike is disappointing - it’s only 0.68 miles because a stair bridge is broken so the guide stalls with nature talks because if you were to actually hike it, it would take less than 20 minutes to reach the broken stair bridge. “There are very few places like this that we have stayed that we enjoyed so much. It is definitely an old, historic home, so it is going to have uneven floors and high-risers on the stairs. But if you are the kind of person that loves old homes, none of that will bother you. It also has a screened sleeping porch as well as an open porch that looks down over the beautiful yard down to the creek. “The check-in process was very simple. The directions to the location were excellent. We make all of our own meals and did not find anything lacking in the kitchen. The place was neat and had a very comfortable chair and couch in the living room. We would definitely stay there again. My one comment would be to check the water pressure in the shower.”
