“This place has some very nice features and a couple terrible aspects - the room itself was very clean and comfortable. It’s a historic building that seems to have been a rooming house, not a hotel bc there is no lobby or staff. It’s 2-3 flights of stairs with no elevator. To check in you need to go next door inside the casino, but there’s also a fantastic restaurant right across the street , Soule Domain. The worst thing was that they state checkout is 11am but they actually cancel your room...

“We brought our cat and stayed in a pet-friendly rooms. The kitchen/living area had lots of storage space, refrigerator, small stovetop, microwave and utensils/cups/etc that were convenient. Dish soap, a scrub sponge and a drying towel were provided for clean up. However, whomever previously had our room didn’t thoroughly wash everything, so we had to pre-wash some things before we could cook. Also, water pressure at the kitchen sink was low at times. “A little pricey but nice hotel, good breakfast, friendly staff.”

“We loved our stay at Basecamp in Tahoe City. We loved the theme of exploring. Our room was very clean and the property has been well maintained. My only complaint was that the shower could use some maintenance. It was totally usable, but could use some maintenance. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. We would totally stay here again.”

“The key cards didnt work so every time we entered our room, from the swimming pool, hiking, dinner we had to go to the front desk and ask for thrm to be set after standing at our door trying them. A wedding used all of the area around the pool and you can hear other guests stomping their feet at night. Little sleep. Restaurant and housekeeping staff were a bright spot. Run down furnishings in the room for the cost.”
